Hi I’m Amy.
EMDR, Trauma, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Anxiety and Depression, Children / Teens (ages 10 – 17).
People usually don’t come to therapy because life is going great. They come because something feels off, heavy, or just plain exhausting. Maybe old stuff keeps popping up when you least expect it. Maybe your relationship feels tense or disconnected and you’re tired of having the same arguments. Maybe your child or teen is struggling and you’re lying awake wondering if you’re handling it “right.” or maybe you’re just exhausted from holding it all together and you need a break from being “fine.”
That’s where I come in.
I work with adults, couples, and youth (ages 10–17) who are done pretending they’ve got it all figured out, because the truth is, none of us do. Therapy with me is real, not fancy. No scripts, no pressure, no judgment. We go at your pace. We deal with the stuff that matters to you. Sometimes we dig into the hard stuff. Sometimes we laugh so hard you almost forget why you were crying five minutes earlier. And sometimes we just sit there and breathe together, because surviving life is exhausting enough.
I’ve been doing this work for over 14 years, and the thing I’ve learned is this: What we all need most is space to be honest about what’s going on in our heads and our hearts. I use the tools that make sense for the uniquely wonderful you. Nothing is cookie-cutter in our therapy sessions. Just what actually works in real life.
I truly get it, life piles stuff on in relationships, parenting, past experiences, the daily chaos. Therapy won’t make all of it disappear, but it can make it feel more manageable. You’ll leave with strategies that actually help, a better understanding of what you’ve been carrying, and maybe a little more room to breathe again.
Outside of work, I’m your average human. I bake fun recipes, binge-watch Friends and How I Met Your Mother, organize things for fun (don’t ask me why), read, and attempt gardening when the weather is nice. I care about connection, real talk, and showing up for people especially when life is messy. And yes (“pivot!”) runs through my head more often than I’d like to admit.
